Itinerary
  • Days 1–3 – Coastal Birding
Arrival at Banjul International Airport and transfer to your hotel on the coast. Birding at key coastal sites including Tanji Bird Reserve, Kartung Wetlands, Brufut Woods, Marakissa Woods, Farasuto Forest, and Pirang Bonto Forest.
  • Days 4–5 – Kuntaur & River Gambia
Travel inland to Kuntaur for two nights. Explore the surrounding savannah and riverine habitats. Enjoy a boat excursion on the River Gambia offering excellent opportunities for kingfishers, herons, raptors, and other riverine species.
  • Days 6–7 – Tendaba Camp
Transfer to Tendaba Camp with birding stops along the way. Explore the surrounding woodlands, wetlands, and mangrove creeks. A boat trip through the mangroves offers superb photography opportunities.
  • Day 8 – Departure
Morning birding if time permits before transfer to Banjul International Airport for departure.

  • Days 1–3 – Coastal Birding
Arrival and transfer to your coastal hotel With optional introductory birding, Over the following days we explore some of the finest birding sites on the coast including Tanji Bird Reserve, Brufut Woods, Kartung Wetlands, Marakissa Woods, farasuto forest, pirang and bonto forest.
  • Days 4–5 – Kuntaur & River Gambia
Travel inland to Kuntaur for two nights. Birding the surrounding habitats and enjoying a scenic boat excursion on the River Gambia.
  • Days 6–7 – Janjanbureh (Georgetown)
Continue to Janjanbureh where we explore woodland and riverine habitats with another rewarding boat trip along the river.
  • Days 8–9 – Tendaba Camp & Kiang West
Two nights at Tendaba Camp, birding the mangroves, wetlands and savannah of Kiang West National Park, including a boat trip through the mangrove creeks.
  • Day 10 – Departure
Morning birding before returning to the coast for your airport transfer.
